Attendance Certificates
Create unscored certificates for webinar and event attendance
Note: Attendance certificates are ideal for situations where you want to issue certificates without scoring, such as webinar attendance, conference participation, or training completion.
What are Attendance Certificates?
Sometimes you need to issue certificates based on participation rather than test scores—like confirming someone attended your webinar or training session. With CertifyForms, you can configure your Google Form to automatically issue certificates to every participant who submits the form, without requiring them to pass any quiz questions.
This feature is ideal when you simply need to document attendance or completion, eliminating the complexity of scoring systems while still providing professional certificates to all participants.
Three Methods to Create Attendance Certificates
You can implement attendance certificates using any of these three approaches:
Single Question Method
Add one simple question and set passing to 100%
How it works:
- After the Identifier Questions (email, full name, etc), add a single question worth 1 point
- Make it a simple question like "Did you attend? Yes/No"
- Set the passing percentage to 100%
- Everyone who completes the form will receive a certificate
Example Question: "Did you attend the webinar?"
Answer Options: Yes / No
Points: 1 point
Passing Score: 100%
Identifier Only Method
Use only identifier questions with no other questions
How it works:
- Include only Identifier Questions (email, full name, job title, etc)
- Do not add any other questions following these
- Set the passing percentage to any value
- Certify'em will consider each exam taker to have passed with 100%
Important: For this method to work, you will need at least one identifier question past the full name (e.g., job title).
Zero Point Method
Set all questions to 0 points with 0% passing threshold
How it works:
- If you need to record additional information: Have as many questions as you want in the exam
- Set the point value of all questions to 0 points
- Also set the passing percentage to "0%"
- Certify'em will consider each exam taker to have passed with 100%
Use Case: This method is perfect when you need to collect additional information (feedback, ratings, preferences) while still issuing certificates to everyone.
Comparison Table
| Method | Questions Needed | Point Values | Passing % | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Single Question | Identifiers + 1 question | 1 point | 100% | Simple attendance confirmation |
| Identifier Only | Identifiers only | N/A | Any value | Minimal data collection |
| Zero Point | Any number of questions | 0 points each | 0% | Collecting additional feedback |
