Troubleshooting

Common issues and how to resolve them.

Schedules are not firing

  1. Confirm trigger status is Installed in the Settings tab of the sidebar.
  2. Use Run now on the Overview tab to force immediate evaluation.
  3. Check the Logs panel for error messages.
  4. Verify your schedule is enabled (not greyed out in the list).
  5. If you just installed the add-on, wait up to 5 minutes for the first trigger run, or click Run now.

Form closes too early

  1. Inspect for global cap schedules overriding open rules.
  2. Verify response count vs. configured caps.
  3. Check calendar event title caps like [N] — they override the default cap.
  4. Remember that close rules have higher priority than open rules. If a close schedule is active, it wins.

Calendar windows not detected

  1. Ensure the managed calendar FormScheduler Schedules exists and contains active events.
  2. Confirm events are placed on the FormScheduler Schedules calendar — not your personal calendar.
  3. Confirm event timezone aligns with the form timezone in Settings.
  4. Verify title prefix filters are not excluding events. Prefix matching is case-sensitive.
  5. Events are searched within ±7 days. If your event is farther out, it won't appear yet.
Most common mistake: Creating events on your personal calendar instead of the FormScheduler Schedules calendar. After clicking "Create / open managed calendar," look for it in the left sidebar of Google Calendar.

License tier appears wrong

  1. Use Refresh license in the license modal.
  2. Confirm your AppDashboard account email matches the Google account using the add-on.
  3. Check that your subscription is active in the AppDashboard billing page.

Timezone confusion

  1. Open Settings → Schedule timezone in the sidebar.
  2. Compare the detected timezone with your local timezone.
  3. If they differ, select your correct timezone from the dropdown.
  4. Remember: schedules evaluate in the selected timezone, not necessarily your computer's timezone.

Custom closed message not showing

  1. The custom message only appears when FormScheduler itself closes the form.
  2. If you close the form manually via Google Forms UI, the custom message does not apply.
  3. Make sure you clicked Save after editing the message.
  4. Available tags: {formTitle} and {nextOpen}.
